to prepare participants for the New Zealand Snowsports
instructors Alliance (NZSIA) Level One or Level Two Ski
Instructor Qualifications.
Please note: The Level One Certification is an entry
level qualification and is not an international
qualification, however if an international qualification
is what you’re looking for then the Level Two achieved
in our 10 week instructors course is just what you need.
Over and above the qualifications themselves, this ski
instructor programme is designed to maximize your
personal skiing ability, turning you into the expert
skier you’ve always dreamt of being. Sign up for our

Resort. Cardrona is considered one of the best resorts

participants for becoming a coach of competitive snow
sports. This popular package includes gaining the Snow
Sports New Zealand Level One Coach Qualification and the
Ski or Snowboard Instructors New Zealand Level One
certification.
Over and above the internationally regognised
qualifications this 10 week coach's course is designed
to maximize your personal riding ability, provide you
with practical coaching experience and coaching theory.
You will also gain work experience in a variety of
resort operations to gain the well rounded knowledge
needed to be a world class coach. This includes
participating in actual work experience in coaching, you
will work alongside New Zealand's top coaches working
for the Cardrona Alpine Resort and High Performance
Centre (HPC).
You will also gain knowledge and experience from the
Park Crew in designing and maintaining parks, and you
will spend time in a groomer learning what it takes to
keep the slopes looking smooth and to build a park.
These benefits offer an opportunity of a lifetime that
will give you the chance to experience what it takes to
be a coach first hand and will make you more valuable in
the snow sports and coaching industry.
Please note this course is for those people that are
serious about becoming an international ski or snowboard
coach. You should have a high level of skill in your
disciplines and possibly some experience in competitive
skiing or snowboarding. This course is not for those
people with limited experience in competitive snow
sports looking to travel the world instructing skiing or

Your 12-week ski
instructor course includes:

experience. Our Trainers are
all NZSIA Examiners and have
years of experience in
training candidates for the
Level One and Level Two
Instructor Certifications.
Our Coaches are all
internationally qualified
and have experience in
coaching at all levels from
grassroots to national
representative teams.

Your training sessions will
include developing your own
personal skills in your
chosen disciplines and you
will also take a look at
other disciplines also.
These include halfpipe, big
air, slopestyle,
boardercross, skiercross,
slalom, giant slalom and
Super-G.

Comfortable, shared,
self-catered accommodation
in Wanaka will be provided for the whole duration.

Learn about avalanche safety and rescue techniques. This is an essential skill when working in an alpine environment. (Check out The Mountain Safety Council).
