The Resorts

Cardrona Alpine Resort is one of New Zealand’s premier ski areas, offering something for everyone. It’s located across the valley from Snow Park NZ, half way between Wanaka and Queenstown.  Known best for its three different pipes (including the new 22-foot monster pipe!) extensive park, excellent beginner terrain, wide groomers and fun intermediate/advanced off-piste, Cardrona is a well-rounded resort perfect for our course participants to be trained as instructors.  Cardrona is widely viewed as one of the best resorts for snowsport instructor training programmes - the Cardrona team have been delivering instructor training courses for over ten years. Snow Park NZ opened to the public in 2002 as the first dedicated freestyle resort in the world. Since its inception, Snow Park has evolved into the Southern Hemisphere's premier freestyle ski and snowboard destination. Today, Snow Park has about 40 rails and jumps, a superpipe, a quarter pipe and a wallride, all spread out over an ever-changing landscape, and catering to all levels of freestyle riders. Throw in some night riding, a sweet restaurant/bar, good tunes playing everyday on their 5000-watt system, and you have the perfect combination of terrain and atmosphere for super-fun freestyle-focused progression.   Training at two great ski resorts!

The Southern Lakes region is home to five great resorts in total, all within easy driving distance of Wanaka. Each resort is very different, with unique terrain and individual personality.

Our course participants will have the opportunity to ride all of these resorts throughout the season, however our training is based at Cardrona Alpine Resort and Snow Park NZ, both about 45mins drive from Wanaka.

The Southern Lakes area has three more ski resorts, all of which our course participants will get to ride. Treble Cone Ski Resort is Wanaka’s epic freeride mountain, offering serious off-piste terrain perfect for those fun powder days. And over in Queenstown, there’s Coronet Peak and The Remarkables offering fun, varied terrain, with parks and piste aplenty.
